Fashion Tips after 50: How Color Affects our Chakras, Mood and How We Feel

Can the clothes and colors you wear change the way you act and feel? Absolutely, according to numerous scientific studies. The clothes we wear communicate with our environment, and with the way we connect or not connect to the people in our daily encounters. Our choice of colors in our wardrobe can further influence how we feel, both emotionally and physically. Today, Paige explains how colors affect the way we feel every day, and how understanding what each color means, how it relates to our primary chakras, can change our whole day! Choosing your clothing, wardrobe and colors is a lot more significant than you might think!

The 7 Primary Chakras

1st Chakra – Red – Root Chakra is at the base of the spine. It relates to physical body support, spine, legs, feet, physical security, survival, trust in one’s own world, groundedness in the physical world, sense of belonging, ability to take care of self. Affirmation: “I am safe, secure and supported. All is well.”

2nd Chakra – Orange – Naval Chakra is behind the belly button. It relates to sexual/reproductive organs, lower vertebrae, pelvis, hips, bladder, sexuality, creativity, relationships, childhood experiences, financial security, and clairsentience. Affirmation: “I am perfect in every way and I feel safe in my body.”

3rd Chakra – Yellow – Solar Plexus Chakra is located at the solar plexus (the opening where the ribs come together). It relates to abdomen, stomach, liver, gall bladder, kidneys, spleen, adrenal glands, digestion, upper intestines, middle of spine, self-esteem, self-confidence, fear & intimidation, need to control, decisions, discernment, discretion, will (power), addictions and physical intellect. Affirmation: “I am open to change. I am powerful and strong.”

4th Chakra – Green – Heart Chakra is located in the middle of the chest. It relates to the physical heart, lungs, shoulders, breasts, thymus, circulatory system, love & hatred, grief, balance, hope, loneliness, compassion, ability to give and receive unconditional love. This is where the physical & spiritual come together. Affirmation: “I give and receive love unconditionally.”

5th Chakra – Light Blue – Throat Chakra is located in the middle of the throat. It relates to throat, thyroid, teeth & gums, cervical spine, voice, trachea, esophagus, communication, timing, freedom of choice, strength of will, self-expression, judgment and criticism. Affirmation: “I speak my truth freely with right timing.”

6th Chakra – Indigo Blue – Third Eye Chakra is located in the middle of the forehead between the eyebrows. It relates to the brain, eyes, ears, nose, pituitary gland, pineal, intuition, emotional and mental intellect and the ability to see clearly. Affirmation: “It is safe to see. I see clearly and fearlessly.”

7th Chakra – Violet, White or Gold – Crown Chakra is located at the top of the head and/or the crown. It relates to trust of life’s purpose, connection to the Divine Source, higher consciousness, faith, selflessness, spirituality, skin and can affect any organ. Affirmation: “I am loved and cared for.”
