I provide a diverse array of in-home, studio-based and virtual personal training and weight loss coaching services, or you can take one of my large group fitness classes at The Fit Lab in Falcon Heights, MN.
I’ve been a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) since 2008 and an ACE Certified Health Coach since 2013. In the spring of 2015 I also added the ACE Fitness Nutritional Specialist designation to my credentials, and in 2016 I became a certified Spartan SGX Coach – the only official obstacle course race certification available today. Since 2008 I’ve provided about 7,000 hours of one-on-one and small group training and coaching to clients in the greater Twin Cities metro area and online all over the country.
I combine that experience with a degree in Behavioral Science to create powerfully effective programs uniquely suited to each client. I believe that our bodies are capable of doing wonderful and amazing things if we can simply get our mindset in the right place first. That’s why all of my training programs begin by helping you create the mindset that will ensure your success. Of course, there will be lots of exercise and healthy diet changes, too!
In addition to coaching and training, I also write about running for Active.com and New Balance Running, and I cover general health and wellness topics for the PBS website NextAvenue.org. In August of 2015 my first book, Reboot Your Body: Unlocking the Genetic Secrets to Permanent Weight Loss was published.
I live in Saint Paul, MN with my wife, Laura, and our dog, Zoey. I love animals, books, jazz divas, movies that surprise me, plant-based cooking, the occasional craft beer, any outdoor activity, all forms of art, The New Yorker magazine, and Minnesota summers.
